Hello, Caitlin and I worked on these two different scenarios, which should be able to address most cases for both the Archives and Artworks: MEDIA THAT BELONG IN PRIVATE COLLECTIONS (for Artworks and Archives) (also within Private resources within those Private collections) *In CAT: The researcher selects a related archival resource that can be public or private, but belongs in a private collection, so it is not published on the WPI Digital Projects. The researcher selects the media. The researcher activates the “public” toggle for the selected media. If there are 2+ media selected in a single resource then the first selected media should behave as the “preview” image. If the resource is public, and there is no specific media selected, then the whole resource should be displayed. The preview image should be used as the preview. *In Public Display If the researcher selected media: The selected media are displayed as individual thumbnails. When clicked on they will be displayed in the document view. If there are 2+ media selected in a single resource -OR - If the researcher made the resource public and did not select media: The first selected media should behave as the preview image (meaning, use this media for the thumbnail and any text in the “description field” for the caption). When clicked on, the media in the resource should be displayed in the document view. Caption reads: WPI Archives Name of Collection If available: Text entered in the Media Details “Description” Field on the resource that contains the media. MEDIA COME FROM COLLECTION THAT IS PUBLISHED ON WPI DIGITAL ARCHIVES *In CAT: The researcher selects a related archival resource that is published (meaning: it is available online as part of Digital Projects). The researcher selects media The researcher activates the “public” toggle for the selected media, if necessary. If there are 2+ media selected in a single resource, then the first selected media should behave as the “preview” image. If there is no specific media selected, then the whole resource should be displayed. The preview image should be used as the thumbnail preview in PD. *In Public Display If the researcher selected one media: That selected media is displayed as an individual thumbnail. When clicked on, the thumbnail will open in the document view. There will also be a link to the media’s parent in Digital Projects. If the researcher selected multiple media from a single resource, the first media should be used as the preview image. When clicked on, the thumbnail will open in the document view and the 2+ selected images will be visible. There will be a link to the first media’s parent in Digital Projects. If the researcher did not select specific media: The preview image for the resource is displayed as the thumbnail. When clicked on, the document view opens directly in Digital Projects, and all media in the resource should be displayed in the document view.
