I understand that we have to select the primary title WITHIN the artwork details section on an artwork record.

However, it is really important to know where that information reliably comes from, just like all the other artwork details.

And like all the other artwork details, it's not possible to create a rule (the "earliest" instance, or one type of event).

I realize that we should expect that a researcher may enter the primary title as an artwork detail for all the art events, if it is consistently titled, so we cannot expect to only see one event with the "primary title" in it.

Is there a way that we could select the salient event as part of the artwork details feature?

It is important for us to know whether the title of an artwork comes from a historic resource or one of our contemporary researchers.
